2020 USS STARK MEMORIAL SERVICE

The 33rd USS Stark Memorial Service was cancelled due to COVID. However, Captain Wynkoop and Captain Whitkop of the Naval Order delivered wreaths to the Memorial Park. A bell was rung to honor the 37 shipmates.

Since only mission critical personnel were allowed on base, a group of Stark shipmates gathered together at Bernard Martin's home in Georgia to have a Memorial Service on May 17, 2020. Several survivors as well as other friends and family were in attendance.

Bernard has a bell so the tradition of "tolling the bell" and the reading of the names was done to honor the 37 lost. Sons of the American Revolution, Brier Creek Artillery, and the Georgia Artillery Batallion 32nd, provided the mortars and cannons to fire a 21-gun salute with all Stark members firing the 21st salute. The Sons of Thunder Motorcycle Ministry gave the Invocation and Benediction. Thank you, brother!!

Another Memorial Service was held at the Dewitt B. Tilden Memorial American Legion Post 316 in Mayport, FL on August 8, 2020.
